HIGH-QUALITY GRADE 1 EXTRACT BEANSFROM INDONESIA
These terrific “Grade 1” Extract vanilla beans come from Indonesia, where a very high quality of vanilla beans is grown. They are the same planifolia-variety vanilla beans that come from Madagascar (the source of so-called Bourbon vanilla) -- so they have the same super-high-quality flavor profile in an extraction-grade bean. And with their lower moisture content, the beans even weigh less, so you get more beans per pound.
These Indonesia beans are a very high-quality, lower cost alternative to our phenomenal Madagascar “Red Split” Extract Grade Vanilla Beans. Mix the two types together to get the most wonderful, “blended” Pure Vanilla Extract that will enhance every recipe!
Beans Per Pound: because the lengths and particularly the moisture content vary in these Premium Extract Grade vanilla beans, we cannot precisely gauge how many beans you will get per pound. The figures below are given as estimates only. You should get more extract grade vanilla beans per pound than for gourmet beans, because the extract grade beans have a lower moisture content, and therefore each vanilla bean weighs less than a similar size gourmet bean. When making homemade vanilla extract, you should go by the weight of the beans per volume, not the number of beans.

(†)Every effort is made to send you the finest vanilla beans available on the market today. Due to shoddy growing and curing/drying methods in the past couple of years, however, we have been seeing incidences of unexpected mold formation during shipping. If upon receipt you see any indications of what you suspect might be mold, visit our FAQs webpage by clicking here or contact us for further information. Because vanilla beans are an agricultural food product, we cannot guarantee the freshness of your beans past a reasonable amount of time. No claims will be accepted more than 30 days after purchase, or if your beans or extract show any evidence of prior use, alteration or adulteration. Under any circumstances, we strongly recommend that you use your gourmet-grade beans promptly and do not store them for any lengthy period of time.
