Located in the interior of the African continent, Uganda started producing some truly fine vanilla beans about a decade ago, using the same bean variety and curing methods pioneered for Madagascar Bourbon vanilla over a hundred years ago. Ugandan vanilla beans are now equal to (and some say "better than"!) the finest quality of their Madagascar cousins.
