Featuring Tahitian-Variety Grade B Extract Vanilla Beans from Papua New Guinea
Tahitensis vanilla beans from Papua New Guinea (PNG) have a very different flavor profile than the more traditional vanilla planifolia beans imported from most other countries (click here to read more about tahitensis-variety vanilla beans), and are still available at a fraction of the cost of their cousins grown in Tahiti. We offer some of the finest Tahitian-variety beans available, at an outstanding price!
Amadeus’ Tahitensis “Extra/Super Long” vanilla beans are 16.5cm - 18+cm in length ~ 6½"- 7+"
Try the Exotic Flavor of Tahitian Vanilla Beans In Your Homemade Vanilla Extract!
We are thrilled to be able to offer these Grade B (Extract) Tahitian-type beans for making homemade vanilla extract. These vanilla beans are grown in Papua New Guinea (PNG) and are a high-quality, but far-lower-cost alternative to Tahitian tahitensis beans. These wonderful beans have an exotic island flavor that is unique to vanilla tahitensis beans. They are prized by gourmet chefs for their fragrant, somewhat fruity flavor profile. Try making your home made vanilla extract with our PNG tahitensis beans for a fabulous complement to your baking or pastry recipes. Or mix with our Madagascar Bourbon Red Split vanilla beans to make your own blended vanilla extracts or vanilla sugar -- they are phenomenal!
Due to temporarily low inventory, please do not order multiple quantities. |
Beans Per Pound: Amadeus’ Tahitensis extract vanilla bean lengths are 16cm - 19+cm ~ 6¼"- 7½". Because the lengths and particularly the moisture content vary in these Premium Extract Grade vanilla beans, we cannot precisely gauge how many beans you will get per pound. The figures above are given as estimates only. You will get significantly more extract grade vanilla beans per pound than for gourmet beans, because the extract grade beans have a lower moisture content, and therefore each vanilla bean weighs less than a similar size gourmet bean. When making homemade vanilla extract, you should generally go by the weight of the beans per volume, not the number of beans.

(†)Every effort is made to send you the finest vanilla beans available on the market today. Due to shoddy growing and curing/drying methods in the past couple of years, however, we have been seeing incidences of unexpected mold formation during shipping. If upon receipt you see any indications of what you suspect might be mold, visit our FAQs webpage by clicking here or contact us for further information. Because vanilla beans are an agricultural food product, we cannot guarantee the freshness of your beans past a reasonable amount of time. No claims will be accepted more than 30 days after purchase, or if your beans or extract show any evidence of prior use, alteration or adulteration. Under any circumstances, we strongly recommend that you use your gourmet-grade beans promptly and do not store them for any lengthy period of time.
