Vanilla Powder

All of our Vanilla Powder is made from one ingredient only: whole, cured vanilla beans that are dried, cut, and ground into a fine powder.

Ideal Use: Vanilla powder is fragrant, rich, and versatile.

  • Use it as a 1:1 substitute for vanilla extract in baking, desserts, and fine chocolates.
  • Use it in place of a gourmet vanilla bean. For an average-sized gourmet bean, we recommend using about 2 teaspoons of powder. Try “blooming” your vanilla powder by steeping it in one of the other liquids your recipe calls for prior to adding it to the recipe.

Add it to home-made granola or use it to add depth to spice blends and rubs. Mix it in with egg whites for a meringue with vanilla flecks. It’s fabulous in high-heat recipes, where the powder will infuse, not evaporate (a pudding or a custard, for instance).

Pro tip: in hot beverages like coffee or cocoa, pure vanilla bean powder does not fully dissolve. It’s like adding cinnamon or cardamom to your drink – it adds flavor but does not fully dissolve.
