V. Planifolia.
Intensity in every pinch. Made from Uganda vanilla beans grown for higher vanillin content, this powder delivers more flavor per measure. One ingredient only: whole, cured vanilla beans, dried then ground fine.
- Aromatic Profile: Rich and earthy, with notes of figs and dark chocolate. Bolder than Madagascar powder. Complements chocolate, coffee, and complex flavors.
- Description: Fine powder made from 100% ground vanilla beans. Vanilla powder has a long shelf life (2+ years) because it is dry, but the container must be kept airtight to prevent air or moisture from getting in. Store away from light and big swings in temperature.
- Ideal for: Excellent in baked goods – especially chocolate cakes and brownies – buttercream, meringue, spice blends and rubs, and dark-roast coffee.
- How to use: To replace liquid vanilla extract, use 3/4 tsp powder per 1 tsp extract, or 1:1 for richer vanilla flavor. Infuse it in a warm liquid for rich flavor. Make your own vanilla paste – easy, economical, and delicious.

Description
Intensity in Every Pinch
Vanilla powder is vanilla at its most concentrated: whole vanilla beans, ground fine, with nothing added. No alcohol, no water, no carriers. Just the bean. For a deeper look at origins, grades, and what to look for when shopping, see our guide on buying vanilla beans.
Our Uganda Vanilla Powder starts with V. planifolia beans grown with a deliberate emphasis on achieving higher vanillin content — the same approach that makes our Uganda Gourmet and Uganda Extract Grade lines stand out. That focus on vanillin translates directly into the powder: more aromatic, more flavorful, more impactful per measure than you might expect from vanilla powder. If you’re making homemade vanilla extract, visit our extract maker guide for bean recommendations and ratios.
Flavor Profile
Rich, earthy, and deep, with strong notes of dried figs and chocolate. Bolder than Madagascar vanilla powder. The Uganda character — robust, substantial, with dried-fruit warmth — comes through clearly even in powdered form. Learn more about this origin on our Uganda vanilla beans page.
